Jeff is a licensed Professional Engineer with a degree in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from Georgia Tech, with over 20 years’ experience as a consultant to industry, with a focus on combustible dust, flammable gases and liquids, and process hazard analysis. He is a member of National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and a Principal Member of the NFPA Technical Committee for Agricultural and Food Processing (formerly NFPA 61) and Combustible Metals (formerly NFPA 484).

Dilip Chand Arulappan is an Explosion Safety Consultant at FIKE Corporation, based in the UK.
He holds a master’s degree in chemical engineering and is currently a doctoral researcher specialising in hybrid dust explosion behaviour. With over a decade of experience in combustible dust safety, ATEX/DSEAR compliance, and explosion protection, Dilip has led numerous consulting projects and risk assessments across the manufacturing, energy, chemical, and food sectors. He is a member of the British Standards Institution (BSI) EXL/23 committee and contributes to the development of European ATEX standards via CEN/TC 114/WG. He is also an active member of the UK Explosion Liaison Group (UKELG), IChemE, IET, and IOSH. Dilip has delivered technical training and presented at key international conferences, with recent work focusing on hybrid dust-gas explosion phenomena and global regulatory frameworks.

He holds a BSET in Plastics Engineering from Pitt State University and a MBA in Ethical Strategic Leadership from the University of Central Missouri. Working his way through product management and applications engineering during his tenure, he now serves as the commercial lead for Fike's EP strategic accounts.
